Congratulations Star Navigation on landing their first distributor AMS and to see the follow through from this press release from last year. ISAMM is a unique one of a kind product.
The first part is the ISMS G3 unit. This unit has been certied through Transport Canada and the FAA in the US. That means that it had to go through an extensive battery of tests to get that certification. Star Navigation also has to be AS9100-Rev D certified in the aviation industry.
The second part is being ISO 13485 certified for the Health industry. To be able to connect a health unit to the ISMS G3 unit you have to be certified in both industries.
This capability allows a continuous common operational picture for doctors in hospitals to be able to see what is happening with a patient in flight so they can advise medics with the patient and to prepare for their arrival.
This is a game changer for the Emergency Medical Services throughout the world and Star Navigation and STAR-ISONEO a subsidury of Star Navigation is the only supplier in the world for this technology!
To be a distributor for Star Navigation the distributor has to be ISO 13485 certified as well. AMS is a great fit
TORONTO, Jun 04, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) --
Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. (cse:SNA) (cse:SNA.CN) (otcqb:SNAVF) ("Star" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that its R&D Department has completed development of its In-Flight System Aided Medical Monitoring system ("STAR-ISAMM(TM)"). Utilizing Star's patented STAR-A.D.S. (R) System, (an on-board, real-time flight data monitoring and tracking system), STAR-ISAMM(TM) directly addresses the need to improve the in-flight transmission to a hospital of medical data concerning an on-board emergency patient.
The STAR-ISAMM(TM) system interfaces with existing bio-medical equipment aboard the MEDEVAC helicopter. It securely transmits the patients' vital signs and other critical information directly to receiving hospital physicians through SATCOM or GSM, as well as providing tracking and location of the vehicle. This allows the early assessment and initiation of the best possible care plan, well before the patient arrives. While the most obvious application is to Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, the System is equally adaptable to both ambulance and commercial airline usage.
In response to discussions with the Emergency Medical Service industry, Star's R&D Department has been working on this project for several years. Recent breakthroughs in Star's technology have led to today's announcement.
The STAR-ISAMM(TM) prototype has already been demonstrated and Star expects that this will significantly enhance:
Star intends to start fielding the STAR-ISAMM(TM) system this year, starting with the helicopter EMS segment.
Star's R&D department will continue to rapidly develop the system, with the addition of new features through technological evolution.
