Royalties

posted on Mar 12, 2010 06:26PM

This is the rates charged for royalties in the three western provinces after the rate change in Alberta to stem the loss off exploration and production.

Sorry folks,

One more thing: the royalties are still alot higher than in BC and Saskatchewan after this change so those jurisdictions will continue to see lots of activity. Therefore, the producers of oil in Saskatchewan will continue to be favoured.

For example, royalties on Natural Gas at current prices are about 35% in Alberta with gas at $6/mcf, ($4.50/mcf currently), versus 29% in Saskatchewan, 25% in BC, and 24% in the US.

For oil, the royalty would be 40% in Alberta, 22% in the US, 18% in BC, and 18% in Saskatchewan.
