The only thing better than Argentina wine is their brine? Rodinia Minerals provided encouraging results from their phase II
auger drill program on the 2,700 ha Salar de Diablillos lithium brine project in Salta, Argentina. Rodinia is conducting an auger
sampling program on 300 m by 300 m centres. Drilling is encountering a medium to coarse grained aquifer beneath a 1-3 m clay
layer. Phase II sampling to date from the aquifer is averaging 895 mg/L lithium and 9,965 mg/L potassium, with a 4.44 Mg:Li
ratio. Putting these results into context, industry heavyweight FMC (FMC) is producing at the Salar del Hombre Muerto at a
reported 620 ppm Li, 0.62% K and a Mg:Li ratio of 1.37x (the lower the better). The same parameters for the Atacama in Chile
operated by the two other industry heavyweights SQM (SQM) and Chemetall are reportedly 1,500 ppm Li, 1.85% K and Mg:Li
of 6.4x. Rodinia management stated Tuesday that geophysical surveys are planned to map the basin and assist in planning an
upcoming 32-hole RC drill program. An initial resource is targeted by year-end 2010.
