Message: redknee couple of items - crazy

After reading a lot of these press releases I am beginning to think that I may have to revise my entry point of 1.20 on this. I am going to keep a close on on this and try to figure out why it dropped to 1.20 on a couple of occasions.

Dundee initiated coverage of Redknee (C$1.50, C$0.10, 7.1%) at buy with a C$2.20 target, calling it "well positioned as a technology leader in an emerging sweet spot around wireless data monetization." The company said it's working with mobile operators in Europe to address the new EU mobile broadband roaming regulations.

TORONTO, April 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Redknee (TSX:RKN), a leading provider of business-critical billing and charging software and solutions for communications service providers, today announced it is supporting a group operator in EMEA to reduce its OPEX by consolidating the customer care and billing capabilities of its multiple properties onto one centralized platform. Today Redknee is managing the group operator's four properties in support of the operator's aggressive growth strategy to quickly expand across the region. In addition to this new contract, Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing platform (TCB) is also supporting group operators in the APAC and Americas regions to successful grow their businesses in the competitive high growth markets.

Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing platform enables operators to realize the benefits of a fully converged real-time billing and customer care platform. With TCB, all subscribers, irrespective of payment type or access technology, can be managed on one consolidated platform, allowing operators to quickly launch targeted promotions and services and deliver an enhanced subscriber experience.

Peter Mottishaw, Principal Analyst at Analysys Mason reiterates the value and benefits that operators can achieve by consolidating their platforms.

"Operators can reduce operating costs and total cost of ownership by consolidating billing and customer care platforms and standardizing operational processes. In addition, as converged platforms consolidate all subscriber data into a single view it enables operators to derive new revenue streams with better targeted promotions and increased opportunities to up-sell additional services to their customers."

Redknee's cloud-based solution further extends the benefits of a converged platform by enabling operators to launch operations into new markets and still be supported by one platform. From a group operations point of view, operators can standardize processes, have an overview of how different markets respond to services and keep a tight control over costs. For the operator's entities, TCB gives them the flexibility to launch their own targeted promotions and services quickly and the agility to manage multiple international currencies and tariffs, and ensure that taxation and local regulatory mandates are adhered to.

TORONTO, March 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Redknee (TSX:RKN), a leading provider of business-critical billing and charging software and solutions for communications service providers, is working with various leading operators to address the new EU mobile broadband roaming regulations and enhance their customer experience capabilities. These comments made by Redknee's CEO, Lucas Skoczkowski, come in response as the regulation by the European Commission, which requires mobile operators to cap the usage of mobile broadband services in order to avoid situations resulting in excessive charges, or 'bill shock', occurring while customers are roaming in the European Union (EU), came into effect on 1 March.

"We have been working with various leading operators in Europe to help ensure that they are compliant to all of the EU roaming legislation requirements," stated Lucas Skoczkowski. "This has led to further conversations about how operators can deliver enhanced pricing transparency and real-time communication to their customers, while they are at home as well as abroad."

Redknee's Next Generation Rating and Charging platform (NGRC) enables operators to provide their customers with greater transparency and visibility into the services they use and their associated charges. In addition to providing the capability to control usage by currency, as stipulated by the European Commission, NGRC also enables operators to effectively rate and charge for data by application, volume and time. This enables operators to price and charge for their data services in everyday terms, such as two movies or three days of service, giving subscribers the confidence to try new services because they understand the charges that will be incurred.

The real-time functionality of NGRC enables operators to provide meaningful and timely balance notifications to their customers, such as when their balance is reaching its threshold. Ultimately, operators can develop a new business model where real-time communication along with greater transparency and flexibility of pricing and visibility into usage, closes the chasm between the operator and its customers, resulting in new revenue streams, increased service adoption and improved customer satisfaction.

"Redknee's Next Generation Rating and Charging engine is powering some of the world's most innovative mobile operators as they provide their subscribers with the best customer experience possible," added Skoczkowski. "At Redknee, we are continuing our investment in solutions that serve the high growth markets of Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, along with the Tier-1 markets of the Americas, Europe and Australia, to support the success of our customers and the execution of our growth strategy."
