OTTAWA, CANADA--(Marketwire - Sept. 2, 2010) - Wi-LAN Inc. ("WiLAN" or the "Company") (TSX:WIN), a leading technology innovation and licensing company, today announced that the signing of a license agreement for wireless technologies with Lorex Technology Inc. ("Lorex"). This brings the total number of companies that have signed licenses for WiLAN's wireless technologies to one hundred.

Lorex has joined global leaders including Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, Research in Motion Limited, Sharp Corporation, Nokia Corporation, Panasonic Corporation and Fujitsu Limited in negotiating agreements for licensed access to WiLAN's wireless technologies.

"We are very pleased to have now achieved the significant milestone of signing our one hundredth wireless technology license," said Jim Skippen, Chairman & CEO. "With one hundred companies under license, a significant cross-section of the wireless industry has recognized the value of our technology."

Skippen added, "The majority of our wireless licenses are unit-based running royalty agreements and were achieved without litigation."

Lorex and WiLAN signed a six year license agreement related to certain of the Company's wireless patents. The agreement covers wireless products sold by Lorex including Wi-Fi-enabled video cameras.
