Not to put a damper on your trip, but on todays news I hear of a Yukon woman beaten and strangled in Costa Rica, so take good care of that girl friend. I have travelled both coasts of Costa Rica and had a great time doing it but were several times told cautionary tales by Nth Americans living there.
