Don't expect much from Uncle Ben - he's really constrained by the election. I suspect his speech will be a disappointment to the markets.

Still, I have to admit I kinda like Ben. He started his term after Greenspan's long period of disasterous Fed policy leading to the massive housing bubble and financial collapse. He's had to spend most of his tenure in crisis management (many of his critics forget how dire things were in 2008). Considering the scale of the disaster, I think he's done reasonably well. I don't agree with everything he's done, but at least we are not in the midst of a new Great Depression.
