Officially, tax loss selling ends Dec. 24 in Canada. Historically, it's been Dec. 15 (most investors don't wait until the last day). I don't think there is that much this year - not a lot of investors in juniors will have a lot of profits to offset. Right now it just seems like a general malaise in these stocks (Shanghai made another new low last night).

Offically, Santa comes the day after Christmas and goes 2 trading days into Jan. The typical extended season starts around mid-December and runs into the end of January. Last year was a perfect Santa trade setup, this year - not so much....
