Acutally, it's not that fundamentals don't matter, but they are hard to really know. All kinds of things can and do happen within a company or its operating environment that are not put into print (until it's too late).
I used to read financial reports & press releases, but all that would do is give me reasons to ignore the price action - and price action is the only truth you can really know. Eventually I learned to trade based on the price action rather than what I thought of the fundamentals. The logical extention is for my trading, fundamentals don't matter.
I do make exceptions, such as tax loss selling season, when I buy stocks with horrible technicals, because I know the probability of a post-Christmas bounce is high. I agree with you about Donner - it really looks like it's found tax loss bottom. I wish you good luck with this. I own a very small (underwater) position which I'm hoping to sell into strength.
