Strathmore's Gas Hills and Pine Tree-Reno Creek Wyoming Uranium Projects Remain Active |
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 14, 2009) - STRATHMORE MINERALS CORP. ("Strathmore" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:STM) wishes to advise shareholders that permitting at its core Gas Hills and Pine Tree-Reno Creek, Wyoming uranium projects remains active (see press releases dated January 5, February 3, and February 12, 2009), and that website information is up-to-date. Earlier this year the Company advised the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that plans for uranium recovery facilities license submittals were expected for the Pine Tree-Reno Creek ISR project in 2010 and Gas Hills in 2011. A NRC license submittal for a mill facility in the Gas Hills will be required should a mill in Wyoming not be available for Gas Hills production (see press release dated January 5, 2009: Strathmore Updates Gas Hills, Wyoming, Uranium Development Project/Milling Facility Advancement: Option Agreement Renewed). NRC licensing for a uranium recovery facility should not be confused with a mine permit application, which falls under the jurisdiction of the state of Wyoming. Strathmore is issuing this information to correct and clarify certain comments published in a recent Wyoming press story, which made reference to a NRC statement that the Company's Gas Hills, Pine Tree-Reno Creek and Sky projects are no longer under consideration. Strathmore has since contacted the newspaper which published the story, and the NRC, both of whom acknowledged communicating incorrect information. The NRC has further advised that their website would be corrected to include Strathmore's stated plans, as provided earlier this year. With respect to mine permit applications, Strathmore continues to advance its three core uranium development projects: Gas Hills and Pine Tree-Reno Creek in Wyoming and Roca Honda in New Mexico.
