It is an interesting speculation that the pencil may lay beneath the waters of Round Lake. It would explain why it has never found so far. That would have certainly made it off limits to the oldtimers who have so diligently rototilled every square inch of the surrounding countryside. I also doubt that it has never occurred to anyone to drill a hole there during the wintertime. However having said that, I wonder if the slope of the land has changed during the passage of all that time, especially in light of all the geologic events that have occur there. Furthermore, to my untrained eye, I notice that there is a bend or a deformation in the band of rocks around the old San Antonio Mine. Would this be the reason why so much gold concentrated there? What do you think Traps?
