I agree with your thoughts about the PPT and the FED. Always makes me suspicious of the reason of the pounding today. Was it to save the dollar which as you say is on the cliff or do "they" know some more bad news (credit problems??) coming early next week. Regardless, today's pounding in the long run won't matter. Just noise.

Although we got a little of a run at the end I was clearly way wrong with my gold price predition for the day.
