Tyhee intersects broad zones of gold mineralization, including 21.5 m grading 10.39 gpt gold and 78.8 m grading 1.94 gpt gold at Clan Lake, Yellowknife, NWT, Canada

TSX Venture: TDC VANCOUVER, May 13 /CNW/ - Tyhee Development Corp. (TSX Venture, TDC) (the "Company") today announced preliminary results from the initial seven drillholes on its wholly-owned Clan Lake Property. Drilling tested a 100 metre long portion of a gold bearing zone. Another 12 drillholes have assays pending. "We are very pleased to have confirmed a gold-bearing zone over such a broad area that remains open on strike." said Dr. D.R. Webb, President & CEO of Tyhee. "Significant intersections include CL100, which returned 78.8 metres (m) grading 1.94 grams per tonne (gpt) gold including 33.0 metres grading 4.29 gpt gold. CL103 intersected 21.5 metres grading 10.39 gpt gold, and CL104 intersected 11.9 metres grading 15.58 gpt gold and 32.7 metres grading 1.15 gpt gold further down hole." << Results from current diamond drill program on Clan Lake Property DDH From To Thickness Gold Grade (metres) (metres) (metres) (gpt) CL100 2.2 81.0 78.8 1.94 incl 24.5 57.5 33.0 4.29 incl 24.5 38.5 14.0 (note 1) 9.82 CL101 3.0 33.0 30.0 1.13 incl 14.5 26.0 11.5 2.30 AND 68.6 130.0 61.4 3.25 incl 69.6 77.0 7.4 3.10 incl 81.5 83.0 1.5 3.26 incl 89.0 90.0 1.0 (note 1) 142.04 incl 98.0 100.2 2.2 3.01 incl 119.6 126.1 6.5 1.75 CL102 48.0 91.0 43.0 0.98 incl 48.0 50.0 2.0 8.01 incl 58.0 59.8 1.8 3.19 incl 82.5 91.0 8.5 1.26 CL103 11.5 33.0 21.5 10.39 incl 11.5 12.5 1.0 168.85 incl 18.5 27.3 8.8 5.25 AND 63.3 78.5 15.3 2.33 incl 76.0 78.5 2.5 6.66 CL104 33.5 45.4 11.9 15.58 incl 33.5 42.1 8.7 21.38 incl 38.8 42.1 3.3 30.41 AND 80.4 113.0 32.7 1.15 incl 80.4 83.5 3.2 4.26 incl 110.9 113.0 2.1 4.36 AND 144.0 152.5 8.5 0.62 CL106 44.0 52.0 8.0 1.35 AND 97.4 102.5 5.1 1.56 incl 99.8 102.5 2.8 2.06 incl 178.5 179.5 1.0 1.61 CL109 76.0 82.0 6.0 0.99 218.0 219.0 1.0 2.61 True width cannot be estimated. Drillholes are perpendicular to the gold-bearing zone, but a suite of quartz veins that commonly contains visible gold was intersected at shallower angles within the broader gold zone. Note 1: Significant visible gold was noted in a 4 cm segment of quartz which was omitted from assay. Assays are uncut. >> "The Clan Lake Property is 32 km south of Tyhee's Ormsby Zone (19 km south of the Goodwin Lake Zone) and 27 km north of the Bluefish hydroelectric complex." The principal gold-bearing zone on the property has been traced on surface for approximately 300 m (open). Drilling has intersected mineralization to a depth of 150 m below surface, (open). The broad zones of nearly 80 metres in CL100, and in aggregate 91.4 metres in CL101 are very encouraging and have positive implications towards the size of the deposit." said Webb. "Two of the narrow high-grade zones are exceptionally rich and have been omitted from the sample stream. Although very high-grade, the volume of these samples would not materially affect our resource estimations, and would normally be cut to 100 gpt or less when resource estimates are completed. As such, they were omitted from being assayed. Photos of the two samples can be found on the Tyhee website (http://www.tyhee.com/photographs/photos.php). The generally north to northwest trending mineralized zone is predominantly a light grey to tan coloured fine-grained foliated intermediate tuff. Alteration consists of pervasive and patchy silicification, sericitization and locally carbonatization with patchy pyrrhotite, and fracture-related pyrite and arsenopyrite. Numerous quartz veins, generally less than 20 cm width transect these rocks. Diamond drilling is continuing with two drills currently active on the Ormsby Zone during break-up. Drilling will commence after break-up on BigSky, Clan Lake, Goodwin Lake and at Nicholas Lake as the three drills on our properties become available. Tyhee Development Corp. is a gold exploration and development company currently focused on the historic Yellowknife Gold Camp, NWT, Canada. It is the largest property holder in the historic camp, and has the largest exploration and development program underway in the region. Its principal asset is the advanced-stage Yellowknife Gold Project, which consists of 6,625 hectares (15,481 acres) of mining leases located 90 km (56 miles) north of Yellowknife, NWT, Canada. Three additional gold properties have been acquired within the Yellowknife Gold Belt and further acquisitions are being considered. Tyhee completed fire assays on drill core samples using 30 gram aliquots with ICP-ES finish for gold analyses, prepared at Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. in Yellowknife, and finished at Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd in Vancouver. A semi-quantitative multi-element analysis is run on 0.5 gm aliquot samples leached in a hot aqua regia solution and measured using ICP-ES techniques. Samples grading greater than 10 gpt gold are fire assayed on 30 gram samples and measured using ICP-ES techniques. Tyhee conducts a rigorous QA/QC program of inserting blanks and duplicates in the field and standards in the laboratory. The laboratory also conducted their own independent QA/QC program including inserting their own standards and rerunning samples from pulped material and reject material. These results were provided to Tyhee. All standards, duplicates, blanks and check assays returned acceptable results. Mr. V.
