Since Tuesday, I have been on the road taking my 2 boys to school (U of Illinois & U of Wisconsin--Madison). We are in Madison now and I have been able to look at the markets only once each day. Based on the posts here recently, I guess I have been lucky to have avoided the markets. One thing that we all can agree on is that the precious metals sector is in a horrendous state right now. I think one factor that has not been mentioned recently is the seasonal factor. Look at the gold charts. We are 1-2 weeks away from the seasonal uptrend. In addition, Canada has been on vacation for the month of August and that factor has decreased market participation.

Granted, we are facing Paulson's patent manipulation attempts. That clearly can be the Black Swan we may be facing. Other than that, the stars might indeed be aligning for a new uptrend which hopefully will include the junior miners.
