Regarding funding, I had an reply to an email I sent to the CEO of a copper exploration company that I own a few shares in (which have been trashed of course....).

He stated that they were not looking to finance in the usual way but seeking a JV partner as the producers are all cashed up and looking to expand. They'll give part of the project away in return for the producer financing the mine. It's another route to go if things don't improve.
