(PRESS PROFILE TAB FOR FACT SHEET & UPDATES)
I want to call your attention to some of the new powers that will be granted the Treasury as a result of this new legislation. Bold is mine:
------------------------------------...
Sec. 2. Purchases of Mortgage-Related Assets
(2) entering into contracts, including contracts for services authorized by section 3109 of title 5, United States Code, without regard to any other provision of law regarding public contracts;
(3) designating financial institutions as financial agents of the Government, and they shall perform all such reasonable duties related to this Act as financial agents of the Government as may be required of them;
(5) issuing such regulations and other guidance as may be necessary or appropriate to define terms or carry out the authorities of this Act.
Sec. 8. Review
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.
------------------------------------...
I cannot believe we are headed down this path to totalitarianism. No regard to other provisions of law?! Financial institutions to become agents of the government?! NON-REVIEWABLE!
With this new legislation, they can basically nationalize any company without reason, act against the law, and no one has the power to check any of their decisions. I am literally scared to think about what is going to happen now. I cannot believe how far this has gone.
I feel that the country risk of operating in the United States has now approached levels equal to Bolivia, and other South American Socialist states. I am glad I own resources out of the country.
I cannot think of a more appropriate time to review the history behind the Federal Reserve, its 100-year campaign for increased power and bailing out its member banks, and what the true intentions are of the people making these decisions. I recommend running, not walking, to the nearest bookstore that carries G Edward Griffin's The Creature from Jekyll Island.
We are closer to the endgame than even we realize.
