You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
I just don't get this. It bodes very poorly for the future though. If silver and gold can't manage to break through in the worst financial crisis since the 1930's, there's a good chance that it's never going to.
I don't yet believe that but it's something I have to consider.
