Paper market verses Physical market

posted on Oct 13, 2008 08:24AM

Last week I posted here that the father of a friend of mine owns a coin shop in Florida and he can not get silver now. Other dealers he deals with will not sell what they have for less than $20/ounce.

Then I see silver @ $10.50 on the comex. It hit me that I have a few thousand ounces and I did not get any of it on the comex. I bought from APMEX and coin shops. I bought the builk of what I have to date under $7.50 quite a while back so I can sell on E-Bay or at many coin shops for $17 to $19 per ounce right now whenever I want! Well, I won't be selling for years BUT if I want, I can sell now for a huge profit. The comex means NOTHING to me except a couple of positive things:

1. I found one shop in Michigan selling at $2.50 over spot (Eagles!) The down side is this saturday he was cleaned out by one buyer.

2. I bet if I look around enough there are a few shops left selling at reduced rates so I could turn a quick profit if I want.

The only down side I see is the COMEX is slowing the 'paper' bull market down BUT its a coiled spring....so, in some ways the Comex is doing many patient investors a huge favor.

Yes, the shorting of quantities of metals that doesn't even exist is unethical and possibly illegal but this HUGE difference between the paper COMEX and the real market can in no way last forever. I know Butler has addressed this many times.

Bottom line: the COMEX is really really really becoming a non-factor in my life and is actually helping achieve my goal of huge financial security.

By the way, I printed a paper certificate that says, "Good for one 2009 Cadilac". I will sell to you for $500.00 Buy from me then sell it to Baires for $1,000. Baires, you sell to Diabullic for $2,000. Diabullic, you sell to Player 13 for $4,000. Player 13, you sell it Lovecarrots on the other board for $10,000. We will all make a tidy profit.

Lovecarrots can trade it to GM for his new car! What a deal!
