I like your analysis Silvernut. As you said, times are much different now though. In addition to the Fed being more agressive, remember that then we were the world's largest creditor nation, now the largest debtor. Then we had savings, now we have none. Then we had industry, now we have little (none when GM and Ford go under soon). Then we had no long-term unfunded liabilities. Now we have $100 Trillion worth of social security, medicare, and medicaid.

I think when you add all these things up, it indicates the printing presses are going to continue running at warp speed. Our government has forgot that true wealth cannot be created from a printing press. The whiff of deflation is still in the air, but I think you are right, it will turn sooner this time than it did in the Great Depression for all the reasons we've outlined.
