I can buy nuggets directly from local placer miners here in the Yukon, having worked out the "fines," (percentage of silver or platinum in the ore) and I'm sure anyone in Alaska can do the same, for a lot less than funding an armed truck load from the south!

Given the fact that placer mining has had a resurgence in California lately, maybe Jim should have a show on how to value placer mined gold on the private market. A lot less nonsense, and you can buy any amount. No such $75,000.00 limit to contracts.
