i've said it before and i'll say it again : i think people would do better opening themselves up just a little bit to the tim woods and jon nadlers of this world.

in fact, now i think its critical to open up our minds to people who's opinion we find distasteful and/or tedious. they might know something you don't...

if there's anybody i wish i had listened to less of this year, it's actually jim puplava.

talk about mind-numbing tediousness :

-what would you say if i were to tell you that....

(i would say you were wrong jim. man up and admit it)

-naked shorting! naked shorting! crooks! naked shorting! conspiracy!

(all the more reason to get in touch with your inner chartist)

-these people are confused about inflation and deflation. not me. they're confused.

(no jim. these people just have a more sophisticated definition that is more accurate with respect to time.)
