I think you may have to reevaluate your assumption that the US will go to war with Iran in 2009. I just don't think that is on Obama's agenda right now, nor is the US, with all of its current fiscal issues, ready for such an action. Oil is currently cheap and supply plentiful (for the moment). Iran needs to sell their oil and will fight production level cuts by OPEC. Iran has domestic issues right now as their state funds are dwindling due to the low price of oil. I don't think this makes for a war scenario.
