TYHEE INCREASES YELLOWKNIFE GOLD PROJECT INDICATED GOLD RESOURCE BY 254,000

OUNCES AND INFERRED GOLD RESOURCE BY 91,000 OUNCES

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (January 22, 2009)-- Tyhee Development Corp. (TSX Venture,

TDC) today announced the discovery of significant gold resources on its Clan Lake and

Goodwin Lake properties and the addition of these resources to the Yellowknife Gold Project.

Diamond drilling completed in 2008 has identified 254,000 ounces of indicated gold resource on

the Clan Lake property, and 91,000 ounces of inferred gold resource on the Goodwin Lake

Property. This represents a 16% increase in the measured and indicated gold resource, as well

as a 51% increase in its inferred gold resource on Tyhee’s wholly-owned Yellowknife Gold

Project.

“The substantial increase to the gold resource on our Yellowknife Gold Project represents the

most significant new discovery of gold mineralization in the Yellowknife area since the mid

1980’s,” said Dr. Webb, President & CEO of Tyhee. “While this is the first resource estimate

conducted on the Goodwin Lake and Clan Lake properties, it is the largest NI 43-101 resource

increase ever reported by Tyhee. In addition, our technical group has extended the gold zones

at Clan Lake to 6.5 km in strike with some surface grab samples from newly discovered zones

returning assays over 100 gpt gold.”

The Clan Lake resource was developed from 43 new diamond drillholes. Mineralization at Clan

Lake is largely constrained to a 6.5 kilometre long, 900 m wide north-northeast striking domain

(open in strike). Mapping and prospecting has identified significant gold mineralization

throughout this zone including the 330, Pond, Main, Cranberry, Morel, Iceberg, and Cub Zones.

Mineralization consists of altered, silicified, and sulphidized rocks that generally strike to the

northwest and individually may exceed 100 m in width.

Diamond drillhole records and drill core from previous diamond drill programs on the Clan Lake

Property have been obtained. Logging and sampling of these cores has commenced and

together with data that has previously been reviewed, Tyhee anticipates that additional

resources will be developed.

The Goodwin Lake Vad Zone (GL Vad) resource was developed from 28 diamond drillholes

over a 400 m long portion of a mafic intrusion. Mineralization occurs in shallow-plunging prolate

domains of silicification, and potassium and sulphide enrichment. Sulphide enrichment is minor

and consists primarily of pyrrhotite, sphalerite and galena. Arsenopyrite is rare to absent. The

zone is open along strike and to depth.

Figures are rounded for presentation

The Ormsby, Bruce Lake, GL Vad and Clan Main Zone resources were calculated using inverse

distance squared estimations of 3 m cubic blocks constrained by geology. A search ellipsoid of

90 x 60 x 30 m was employed for Ormsby and Bruce Lake. A search ellipsoid of 60 x 25 x 25 m

was employed for the Clan Lake Main Zone, and a search ellipsoid of 60 x 40 x 20 m was

employed for the GL Vad Zone.

All assays are composited into 1.5 m lengths, and composites for Ormsby, Nicholas Lake and

Bruce Lake have a top-cut of 100 gpt gold. The Nicholas Lake resource was calculated using

inverse squared estimations of 1.5 x 5 x 5 m blocks located in two domains. A search ellipsoid

of 50 x 34 x 5 m at elevations above 100 m and 60 x 40 x 5 m below this elevation was

employed.

Tyhee completed fire assays on drill core samples using 30 gram aliquots with ICP-ES finish for

gold analyses, prepared at Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd. in Yellowknife, and finished at

Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd in Vancouver. A semi-quantitative multi-element analysis is

run on 0.5 gm aliquot samples leached in a hot aqua regia solution and measured using ICP-ES

techniques. Tyhee conducts a rigorous QA/QC program of inserting blanks and duplicates in the

field and standards in the laboratory. The laboratory also conducted their own independent

QA/QC program including inserting their own standards and rerunning samples from pulped

material and reject material. These results were provided to Tyhee.

A

ll standards, duplicates,

blanks and check assays returned acceptable results. Mr. V. Pratico, P.Geol., the designated

QP within the meaning of NI 43-101, has reviewed this release and approves of its content. An

NI 43-101 report will be filed within 45 days of this release.

Tyhee Development Corp. is a gold exploration and development company currently focused on

the historic Yellowknife Gold Camp, NWT, Canada. It is the largest property holder in the

historic camp, and has the largest exploration and development program underway in the

region. Its principal asset is the Yellowknife Gold Project, centered on mining leases located 90

km (56 miles) north of Yellowknife, NWT, Canada. Additional properties had been acquired

including the Goodwin Lake Property (13 km south of the Ormsby Zone), and the Clan Lake

Property (27 km south of the Ormsby Zone) are now included as part of the Yellowknife Gold

Project.
