The thoughts you express are similar to those of Ty Andros (Tedbits) who believes there is more deleveraging ahead. The contracts are denominated in the $, Euro, and Yen. This will create demand for these currencies and they may well rise a bit yet.
However gold has started to decouple from the dollar in that it has gone up recently regardless of what the $ is doing. This should continue.
When the deleveraging and artificial stimulation of these currencies is complete they too will drop rapidly and then the U.S. hyperinflation can begin. Time will tell how much longer these currencies will be held up (by deleveraging) before they too fall and all currencies are markedly falling against gold.
