Ultimately (if this isn't the end of the system not only in Biblical proportions but also from a Biblical point of view) this will be positive for gold the metal and probably for the gold miners as well.

If it truly is the end from the Biblical perspective gold and silver in the ground or in the mine will be meaningless. Food will likely be the issue as it was in both destructions of Jerusalem. In both instances the inhabitants were reduced to canabalism. 607 B.C. and 70 A.D.
