You have nothing to be sorry about; up until last fall I had the utmost respect for Puplava et al., but I now have trouble listening to the show and to the arrogant attitude Jim and John often show towards many others in the financial landscape...
I wonder what would happen if they were to truly hold their own actions and words up to the same scrutiny as they do others'; do they seriously believe that an investor who followed their advice for the last couple of years is in good shape today?
I have no problem with people being human and making mistakes; I do have a problem, as you mention, with an inability to admit those mistakes and apologize where necessary.
A good case in point is Frank Barbera; he has been wrong in the past (like everyone else), but he'll come right out and say it, and try to do better the next time. For this reason I respect him, even when he is wrong and I lose money.
Getting back to Tyhee, I am trying to keep my eye on the basics: I believe we are shareholders of economically-minable gold in the ground in Canada, with loads of blue sky to boot; if the value of those holdings is not recognized sooner or later, I think we will find that there is a lot more "wrong" with the world we live in than the bottom line of our portfolios.
All the best to you Strike, and thank you for sharing your thoughts,
stone
