Mr. von Greyerz was not giving a detailed presentation and neither was I. You are correct in saying that the onset of hyperinflation can occur very quickly. One of the things mentioned in the books on the hyperinflation Weimar experienced was "the speed with which it came. It caught everyone by surprise." Obviously the "everyone" is a generalization, some few (like us) saw (see) it coming.
I also agree that the situation, depending on where one is attempting to develop a mine, can work out where financing will be unavailable. I wouldn't want to be in a company dependent on the U.S. capital markets for funding. I think and hope Canada will fare somewhat better. But I don't have the majority of my holdings in the speculative juniors either; so I appreciate your clarification for those who might take what I said too far to their detriment.
