It's just government sponsored "noise" to try to scare people out of their gold positions. What a buying opportunity for the Chinese and other seriously thinking people.

Nobody interested in profit sells a position in that manner, with the exception of financially devestating news and even that would be stupid as gold is the "real safe haven" nowadays and the thinking people of the world understand that.

It sure was a wowser though!
