Hubert (aka GWTW) recently called my attention to what happened over at the erstwhile Agoracom Aurelian Forum. He reminded me of this when we were exchanging ideas about Skeleg's recent proposed forum "Vote".
Does anyone remember what happened at the Agoracom Forum when Kinross made a move on Aurelian?
If you do, please chime in and help me out here.
I can only recall that their Forum was inflamed by the terms of the proposed buyout and took some sort of collective "action" to prevent it.
In the end, as I recall, it came to nothing. The deal went forward pretty much as announced. I even remember that after the takeover, Aruelian's CEO made some comment about how Agoracom's Forum didn't have enough inside information to offer any useful advice, or something like that.
I guess you'd have to have been on the inside to have better called the shots.
And, that's pretty much what Dave Webb told us here. That is, I'd guess that we'd probably not be taken too seriously if the majority of us opposed a Tyhee deal. That said, my confidence in Webb and company leads me to believe that we'll not be let down like those on the Aurelian Forum were.
Cheers,
Baires
PS, Shall we take a recount of those 26 votes to change Tyhee's name to "Tyhee Gold"?
