Here are the actual numbers dating from April and May of 2010. These are static shots of where the money supply percentage was at that moment in time.
They are from the free portion of Shadowstats.
M1 = about 7%
M2 = about 1.5%
and the shocker
M3 = NEGATIVE 5% negative
Negative for only the 2nd time since 1960. Even then (in 1993) it was only a tiny bit negative. The recent portion is with the SGS continuation as M3 was discontinued as a US statistic a few years back.
So they have put the brakes on the broadest measure of the money supply after peaking in 2008 at numbers approaching 18%. But there is still far more money in the system now than there was then. It cannot be removed from the system without causing a severe disruption or absolute crash.
Let's hope they have control of this unusual situation.
