I just called them and told them in my own words what I am seeing, and that I think it is manipulating the share price in a way that is dishonest, and contradicts the policy (2.2(2)) I quoted in the other post.
When people call and complain about who is doing it (on teh sell side it appears to be through Scotia Capital), they have to open a file and look into it. The more investors who call and make them do whatever, the better for transparency.
I asked for a reference number, and gave my name. But I was not impressed.
I hope more investors are concerned, and call IIROC to ask if what is being done is consistent with the rules and regulations of IIROC. I also asked direcly if IIROC is interested in protecting the integrity of market participants or not. But those are my own views/concerns.
Best to just use your own words and concerns, if you have any.
Program trading is not illegal, but market manipulation and dishonest practices are or should be....
