Bankers hoping to get cheap shares in a financing do it to prevent price appreciation and foster discouragement in future price appreciation. They hope and "prey" you will be forced to come back to them over and over. As soon as you approach them to talk about a loan or they figure on their own you need one, they begin the shorting process. Almost universally their management belongs in jail as that activity is illegal.
It is for that reason that I would do everything in my power if a were a mining company representative to avoid the banking system. I hold banks about as near and dear as poisonous reptiles. I would even go so far as to pay a slight premium to a loan source I could respect and that wasn't doing everything in its power to make my business fail.
The only money I keep in the banking system is enough to pay about two months personal expenses. I carry zero credit card balance from month to month. I don't do loans for anything and haven't for nearly forty years.
I'm considering taking out even that small sum and working through a credit union for bill payment purposes.
To the extent I personally can I give them what they deserve: NOTHING.
