What's far more important is when those sellers decide that it is time to let the share price rise, and stop selling into any buying pressure.
It could be now, but I suspect they won't make that determination until July.
As for the Ice Road, not cold enough for secondary (tyhee route) to be fully opened (36") but loads are about to be able to go all the way up to tyhee camp.
I hope to see a news release if and when that additional equipment makes it up the Ice Road. Hope for colder conditions.
Notice
Nuna Logistics advises that as of 8:20 p.m on February 16th, 2012 the TCWR allowable load weights were bumped to 36” which corresponds to 81.4% of full weight capacity. The warmer then normal temperatures have affected ice growth this year and maintenance crews continue to work to build ice in weaker areas. This practice will continue until we reach full load capacity.
General Summary
As of 10:30AM, 16 February, a total of 31,602 tonnes of cargo (1590 loads) had departed Yellowknife, heading north on the Winter Road. Daily trucking averages during this time frame have been 138 loads per day. The current allowable load weights now correspond to 35” of minimum ice thickness chart.
Ice conditions remain favourable throughout the entire load. The appearance of surface cracks along the route is a normal occurrence, as the ice sheet continues to deflect and compress from the traffic flow. Road maintenance crews are conducting daily visual inspections and applying flooding where necessary to repair and build the ice sheet. The current forecast of lower than seasonal temperatures may slow targeted ice growth over the next few days.
Portions of the road width may temporarily be reduced, while the flood crews conduct their work. Drivers must remain vigilant and alert to the presence of maintenance crews working on the road. These areas are always well marked and speed limits will be posted. A notice reminding truckers to stagger their alignment along the WR lanes has been posted. This alignment preserves the ice surface and prevents rapid ice deterioration. YK Dispatch office and Lockhart Lake camp will continue to post bulletins on the roadway ice condition. Notice will also be distributed to all carriers.
Primary Road
Dome Lake Segment (120 km)
The loaded lane is in good shape with some normal cracking. Unless posted as closed, all express lanes are open within this section of the WR. Maintenance crews are conducting tight blading and flooding along all portions of the route. Drivers must be alert of the water run-off along Portage 11. Maintenance crews within this area working on a solution to minimize the effects. Flood crews are focussed on repairs to the ice surface.
Drivers should be aware of periods of increased congestion at the Meadows.
Lockhart Lake Segment (165 km)
The load lane is in good shape with normal cracking. Unless posted as closed, all express lanes are open within the section of the WR. Profilers continue to focus on identifying areas of slow ice growth along the loaded lane and express lane. Road Maintenance crews are focussed on all the portages, repairing ice cracks, and flooding areas to support ice growth.
Lac de Gras Segment
The loaded and express lanes are in good shape. Road maintenance crews are tight blading north to south along the lanes. Portage crews are conducting maintenance and the flood crews will continue with surface repairs.
Drivers need to continue to be aware of the pressure ridges along MacKay Lake. Speed and spacing needs to be closely monitored within these defined areas.
Secondary Route - Prosperous Lake to Gibbs Lake
Dispatch trailer was set up at Prosperous Boat Launch and is now operational. Signage installations were completed in preparation for opening to southbound empty trucks.
Sanding material was staged at Tyhee and sanding of required sections was carried out in preparation for road opening.
Flood crews continued to work on low ice areas on both southern and northern sections and despite warm temperatures were able to achieve targeted minimums for road opening.
Maintenance crews carried out general maintenance, portage improvements and tight blading on Prosperous.
The road from Prosperous boat launch to NTPC Bluefish was opened for two way hauling on February 12th to a posted weight limit allowance of 26”. The weight limit for this section was increased to 29” on February 15th.
Three line profiling of the entire route was completed and 29” minimum recorded for road opening.
The Secondary Route was opened to southbound empty truck traffic at 8 am on February 15th.
YK Dispatch
Dispatch operations are function well. A total of 21,388 tonnes (825 loads) were dispatched during this reporting period.
The Next Seven Days
Primary Road
The main effort for the next seven days will continue to be active profiling along areas on minimum ice growth, and road surface maintenances to all portion of the loaded and express lanes.
Load increases will continue to be promulgated by the Yellowknife Dispatch office as minimum ice thicknesses increase.
Secondary Route
Maintenance crews will carry out routine route maintenance, sanding and improvements. A night shift will be on duty with an on call recovery truck. Periodic profiling will be carried out to monitor ice thicknesses.
