The question whether advertising works to raise the share price should be researchable, and I wonder if any has been done. Can be done just by comparing the share price and market value of companies with similar characteristics distinguished primarily by whether they advertise or not. If there are big enough samples there should be a good indication of the relative value and rate of return on advertising. Would be interesting. Ike
