I saw your posts on Agoracom today.
I’m in Toronto at the PDAC. I’ve met with the Premier McLeod, and he’s a bright guy. There are many representatives of the government and regulatory administration in Toronto at the PDAC. McLeod understands the economy, but also understands politics. The NWT is beating the drum load and hard, and surprisingly pro-mining and pro-development. So too are many of the First Nations, mind you, the pro-mining guys are more likely to come to the PDAC than the anti-development factions.......
The NWT is committing to add infrastructure to lower mining costs. They are a bit hamstrung as are most economies that rely or resources, in that their revenues have taken a beating making infrastructure development tough. But they do understand. I think that the NWT is at a crossroads, but they get it. I like the road they’ve chosen. We’re now seeing a near perfect storm of political will across a broad spectrum in a very mineral-rich area that fortunately for me, has been abandoned by most of my competitors. It’s a bit like being a kid in a candy store, but add that all the other kids are scared to enter.
