Howard Ruff - I remember reading Ruff Times in 1978 and being persuaded to invest a ton in sugar futures, as Howard was urging. My then wife refused, and I missed out on what would have been a life-changing investment as sugar zoomed. Fast forward to 2004 - Howard popped into my consciousness. On finding out that he is still alive, I subscribed and got involved in gold. His picks are fairly mainstream (and don't get involved in Madison Minerals, one of his favorites). I've learned a lot - my current wife is totally kept in the dark about my investment decisions.
