LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 28, 2008) - TYPHOON EXPLORATION INC. ("Typhoon") (TSX VENTURE:TOO) announces that new geoscientific targets were identified by 3D compilation with the GOCAD software and that the works increase rapidly with a second drill now operating on a drill hole of 700 meters on the Fayolle project.
The main advantages of the 3D technique via GOCAD are the data treatment uniformity and their validation. The geological data (mapping, stripping, channel sampling and drillings), the geophysical data (Mag, EM, Ground IP, airborne survey) and geochemical data (drill holes lithogeochemistry) undertaken on the Fayolle property were compiled and entered in this software.
The data management and the 3D modelization have permitted to identify several geochemical and geophysical anomalies in lateral extension NW, SE, SW and AT DEPHT of the Fayolle deposit, as well as other target areas on the property that covers more than 26km2 where Typhoon holds 100% interest including 8km of the Porcupine-Destor gold corridor.
More anomalies of ankerite and albite combined with IP inversion anomalies (induced polarization) are the targets of the 2008 drilling campaign undertaken.
The 3D modelization, (view link http://www.explorationtyphon.com/ima... ) was produced with the technical support of Mrs. Francine Fallara, Geol., M.SC.A. from the URSTM-UQAT in Abitibi-Temiscamingue. Mrs. Fallara has an extensive background in the 3D field and she was also involved in several projects for major mining companies and with The Ministere des Ressources Naturelles et de la Faune du Quebec.
All the samples from the 2008 drillings are sent to the laboratory for analysis under priority mode.
In the February 20th 2008 press release the results for drill hole FA-04-05 should have been 15.99 G/T Au over 1.71 meters and for drill hole FA-05-03 (length) from 216.00 meters to 220.00 meters at 4.37 G/T Au over 4.00 meters. For more information visit our website at www.explorationtyphon.com.
