Hello to all UBS forum members;
I have been reading this board and the other board for many years (since mid-2000) and holding shares since then also and averaging down. Never even registered or posted until now. The Dec 1'st announcement to sell LOOK thru a court sanctioned process was a nice X-mas present and really made the future brighten, and is why I am posting now.
I still recognize many of the posting user names that have come and gone over the years and have even learned to read Checkoff'ian somewhat, LOL. I used to get a laugh out of Grumpy too. I am posting on this board since it currently seems more informative than the other board. There is still the odd post on SH that is informative but not very many.
It certainly has been a long, long haul. The final pieces of this LOK/UBS puzzle have finally started to gain momentum again and appear to have better times ahead in the very near future.
It will be interesting to see if Bell has any surprises left, since their attempt to bankrupt LOOK didn't work. I also suspect they were responsible for driving the share price down in recent months, possibly planning to take another hostile run at them. Too late for that now though.
This spectrum is far too valuable not to be strongly bid on, and many in the industry know that too. When the media takes notice that serious bids are being put on this by some big players it will really move. Again, JMHO.
Hang on for what should soon be a great ride this year. The reason all the long's have held this stock for so long is that UBS is the only real small cap speculative wireless play left in Canada. Anyone who owned LOOK originally had their shares decimated during the last reorganization years ago. And Yes I still have some remnants of LOOK shares, the recent mailing I received for the Jan 14th meeting lists my paltry 4 shares in one account (funny but sad).
The second piece of this UBS play is the lawsuit. Again speculation at this point but possibly worth hanging on to some shares. It could be worth a lot more than the LOOK auction since the Inukshuk spectrum is coast to coast (almost). Now add to that the possibility of UBS private being brought back in, and maybe even a TSE listing (in 2 weeks, LOL), etc ... All JMHO.
Wishing All UBS shareholders the Best of Luck!!, and a Happy and Prosperous 2009 !!
