Share price is doing well the last couple weeks considering the general market slide -- up over 50 %. Bodes well for the potential of the industry despite the recession. I like the following excerpt from some of their recent releases:

“Our customers depend on, and enjoy, high-quality voice services and dependable mobile broadband service,” said Richard Blanc, regional vice president of network for Sprint. “Based on our internal metrics, dropped and blocked call rates continue to be at all-time lows with double-digit, year-over-year improvement when comparing December 2007 to December 2008. By enhancing coverage and capacity in the area, across both of our wireless networks, Sprint is making it easier than ever for customers to cut the cord or landline phone to save money and go completely wireless.”

The last line says it all. Hopefully there is something to Ishtar's prediction over on SH -- Rogers and Bell would really be rattled by something of this magnitude. They would deserve everything they get, too -- Here's to hoping.
