Vancouver, B.C. - Upper Canyon Minerals Corp. ("UCM" or the "Company") (TSXV: "UCM") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Yves Gagnon as a non-executive director of the Company.

Mr. Gagnon is a geological engineer actively working for the last 30 years towards development and production within the mining industry (Yorbeau Resources, Géospex Sciences, Espalau Corp., Abcourt Mines, Métanor Resources, C2C Inc., etc.). He managed multidisciplinary teams of up to 400 people and multimillion dollar projects, both nationally and internationally. He was instrumental in the discovery of the Bell Allard South copper-zinc deposit (Noranda), in the return to life of the Bachelor Mining Complex (Métanor, Espalau), and in the closure and reclaim of the Goldfields Mining Complex (Barrick). Mr. Gagnon acts as director and/or manager of numerous public and private companies, being active in the development of Animiki Resources and Processor Mining Co., two private junior companies in the process of becoming public.

Tom Thomsen, President and CEO of Upper Canyon Minerals states "the addition of Mr. Gagnon to the board is part of a reorganization of the company that will accelerate the Company's existing exploration/development project".

About Upper Canyon Minerals Corp., a growth oriented mineral-exploration resource company trading on the TSX Venture Exchange (Symbol: UCM), whose mission is the discovery and development of high quality precious and base metal resources, with a goal of advancing them into commercial production. UCM's exploration work is currently focused on the 100% owned Brosnor Gold property located near Val d'Or, Abitibi, in Quebec, Canada; the property is comprised of 18 claims totaling approximately 922.8 hectares. Previous work has confirmed 3 gold zones (Adelemont-Norcourt-Bermont), with open extensions.
