Your question is a good one, and perhaps basic to the extractive and exploration industries. It is in the nature of mining, but especially with explorers , to start somewhere other than where the opportunity is, in this case Vancouver. Proximity to the exploration would have you somewhere between The Pas ('north of 54') and Thomson. The latter leaves you a heck of a trek  from Lynn Lake. Most of what the folks in Vancouver do requires little more than phone and internet and physical access to the financial world to run these frontier locations with appropriate site support and occasional visits.The people needed on site do not run back and forth. Conversely, someone located in Lynn Lake, Snow Lake, or even Thomson would would have difficulty administering and financing the fluid and ever changing operating needs. Having travelled and spent time in N.Man. , you would want the financial guys elsewhere so they do not exhaust themselves fishing and swatting mosquitoes. Professional managers are hard to attract , and the spouses can be even more problematic.. The largest amount is typically contracted out at this point. Kind of the same everywhere  with exploration.
