My thought on this one is that Jones was committing the balance sheet to starting the Lalor Lake mine and reopening the Chisel North project.

Maybe some on that board, or major shareholders, wanted to sell the company.

How would this impact VMS? No one is going to be making anymore decisions in the short term on the direction of the company, and JV would just have to wait, if there is any hope left at this point. JMHO.
