I don't think the market ever fell asleep. VMS has not done much of anything as of late except get into bed with HBM (thankfully they did).
But to expect that drilling by another company on property that you hold an interest in is going to move the SP you are mistaken. There are many companies that would like that to happen but it is not right now.
Check out NGG, they have several JV's including Barrick, and the drill results for many of these JV's have been outstanding but no move in SP has happened.
If you don't do it yourself, the drilling will not matter to the market. The only events that make the market sit up and take notice at this time is an aquisition of assets.
That will move the value of the company up, overnight if you will. It could also make you a take over target, see Dana petroleum and what happened when they bought some of the Danish petro-canada assets.
Sitting on your duff and hoping that someone will notice you is not doing share holders any good.
My opinion, do your own research, but take off the rose coloured glasses first (also my opinion).
