The analyst meant 15,000 tons of copper per year. Here are the numbers he likely used in his calculations (being ultra conservative of course imho):
3,000,000 tons of ore at Reed @ 3% average grade copper = 90,000 tons copper
90,000 tons copper / 6 year life span of mine = 15,000 tons per year
That would mean daily production would be approximately 1370 tons of ore per day over the 6 year life of the mine.
Keep in mind that Hudbay said between 3 - 4 million ton deposit @ 4% average grade copper and daily production between 1,000 - 2,000 tpd.
4,000,000 @ 4% = 160,000 tons copper
imho using the larger size and grade would be more the case.
