TORONTO (Dow Jones)--UBS Securities Canada Inc. highlighted nine possible additions to the S&P/TSX Composite Index and also identified eight stocks which are "vulnerable to deletion."

In a research report, UBS strategist Garry M. Cooper said he expects the results of S&P's quarterly review of the composite index to be announced after the close Friday.

Cooper said his nine "higher probability adds" are Allen-Vanguard Corp. (VRS.T), European Goldfields Ltd. (EGU.T), Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. (KHD.T), Absolute Software Corp. (ABT.T)), Gold Eagle Mines Ltd. (GEA.T), Jazz Air Income Fund (JAZ.UN.T), Aecon Group Inc. (ARE.T), High River Gold Mines Ltd. (HRG.T) and Sandvine Corp. (SVC.T).

In his view, these stocks have satisfied the criteria for inclusion in the composite index.

Cooper also identified six "lower probability adds,": Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Inc. (RBA), MI Developments Inc. (MIM), Corridor Resources Inc. (CDH.T), Heritage Oil Corp. (HOC.T), Timminco Ltd. (TIM.T) and Mega Uranium Ltd. (MGA.T).

Cooper said at least eight securities have failed to satisfy requirements for continued inclusion in the composite index. These are: MEGA Brands Inc. (MB.T), Quebecor World Inc. (IQW), True Energy Trust (TUI.UN.T), Cyries Energy Inc. (CYS.T), Gabriel Resources Ltd. (GBU.T), Cinram International Income Fund (CRW.UN.T), ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. (ATA.T) and Agiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ANPI).

Cooper also mentioned three lower-probability deletions: Ballard Power Systems Inc. (BLDP), QLT. Inc. (QLTI) and Fairborne Energy Trust (FEL.UN.T).
