Here is a snippet from someone that is perhaps very close to VIT but i won't say the name.

"Remember, that Kinross does not own Victoria with their potential 29.5% of the outstanding stock. There are large blocks of stock out there controlled by separate entities. If these entities were to get together Kinross would have a large block, but not the largest block. A company like Victoria is owned by its investors, not just one. Kinross has but one operating mine in Nevada, the Round Mountain Mine, and is in joint venture on that as well. Their expertise in exploration in Nevada is limited and their exploration office in Reno does not have a viable exploration cadre."

Kinross has many other projects around the globe and might be happy just to have a 30% holding.
