Re Calandra - Thom Calandra wrote for CBSMarketwatch in the early 2000s and had a pretty good record of picks. He hyped up BGO and VIT back in 2003. The only article I've found was this one: (warning - it raves about BGO)

While he did not appear to hype VIT that much in public, he was also soliciting subscriptions to his private Calandra Report, where he probably hyped VIT, since he had already disclosed that he owned VIT.

I seem to remember he interviewed Clive and it was intimated that should BGO be taken over, he would use VIT as his vehicle to continue his gold projects.

If I remember correctly, Calandra emceed the 2004 Vancouver gold show and introduced Embry. The next year, Calandra fell from grace and Embry was a speaker again and I remember him saying he was not impressed with Calandra. I think he felt Calandra was a bit over-the-top with his hyping of things. So getting Calandra's blessing on a stock is a double-edged sword.

Still, I plan to ask him about VIT if I bump into him at the next gold show.
