The Deacon - I liked your little sermon today. Captain Foley has kept the boat afloat during the storms as he has been the navigator up on the mast seeing the land we seek on the horizon and has kept some of the crew’s hopes up. The most loyal of the crew, with visions of their own, in turn didn’t jump ship on him when the ship was able to briefly called at port. Some of the crew got stuck on the boat by mistake and didn’t jump ship while they could, so now while the loyal deck hands who believe in his vision are busy trying to ladle water out of the ship and doing our best to encourage and support our navigator, the others with no vision are busy trying to ladle it in. What those others don’t understand is that they are stuck until the next port of call and that no amount of whining and complaining is going to do them any good until we either get there or sink and that they might as well go with the flow and try to keep positive.
