In my opinion most of the change they are talking about is to "lessen" the US's dependancy on oil, that means essentially their looking to cover off growth in demand for energy by alternative sources. Also don't forget, no matter what - oil is a non-renewable resource, with only so much of it around, no matter how high the reserves are right now, they CANNOT stay that high forever, and within our lifetimes, we will find out exactly how long oil has to live as nobody can find any new reserves. Supply and demand determine price, sooner or later there will be very limited supply and the people supplying it will dictate the price - so is it good to know the Libyans right now??
