Hydrothermal Graphite Deposit Ammenable for Commercial Graphene Applications
Hey everybody. The following is a question I posted on the Stockhouse website this morning. Another poster, Threshold gave a great reply, and I thought I'd post the dialogue here. If this drilling actualy proves up.... oh my stars.
____________
Hey all,
I recently invested in ZEN. Not as much money as some here. But enough for me.
I have to say that while I AM excited about this play, I am sliiiightly concerned about the extreme hype I'm sensing. My experience tells me that when everyone is dancing in the streets like this (half of the people high on their paper gains) there is soon to be a decline. I'm not saying that is going to happen. All signs point to UP, but... hear me out...
Mother Nature is a joketress. She likes to make it look like she's doing one thing and then do another.
Tonnage is the key here for ZEN's immediate future, right? It's not grade or purity or management or infrastructure or First Nations concerns. We're good on those fronts. It's TONNAGE. It seems to me that if we have the tonnage... then (aside from further global economic meltdown, etc) we are all-systems-go... right?
Which means that we are waiting for one thing and one thing only... DRILL RESULTS.
And this is where my question comes in: Why is everyone so confident that the drill results will be good? I've been involved in several "This is going to the moon" plays in the past few years.... ALL resulted in poor drill results. And I am always the last one to sell when that happens.
I'd love to hear from those who are positive on this play and those who are naysayers. And please... without all the name calling BS. Just some facts or opinions on the deposit.
Thanks in advance,
~snezzer

this orebody is a huge breccia pipe. the company drilled very large stepouts last year and pulled ore out of several widely spaced areas of the pipe. when examined under the microscope samples from all the drilled regions were identical.
the pipe was created by a volcanic event, a hydrothermal deposit. this is special as flake deposits are mostly sedimentary and have not been cooked at volcanic temperatures.
graphite maps out perfectly with airborn EM so there is reason to believe that the whole pipe is full of vein/lump graphite that has had the impurities cooked out of it by mother nature.
the Sri Lankan vein/lump deposits have tiny veins and more impurties than ZEN's ore, and ZEN's veins are huge (measured in meters while Sri Lanka's are measured in centimeters).
here's a bit more info for you including pictures...

Threshold.... wow, thank you for that intelligent response. And I do appreciat you putting it in words I can understand. :-)
That is a solid case moving forward. It would definitely seem that the odds on HIGHLY in favour of the drill results proving up. I won't be 100% convinced until we actually get the results. But I am feeling much more comfortable knowing those details.
Holding confidently! But I'm still open to others who have intelligent reasons to disagree with Threshold's reasoning. Haven't seen anything yet in that regard.
Cheers,
